- Since there are several causes to sleep disorders you receive a comprehensive exam, which focuses primarily upon a) how long you've had the condition, b) when it first emerged, c) your present sleep pattern, and d) any core emotional issues (such as abandonment) that you believe may be related.
- Next we meet weekly for three consecutive weeks. You learn to apply the EFT technique, while being guided through stress relief. Since physiological conditions are worsened by stress (frustration, fear, anger), it is vital to alleviate these issues in order to open pathways to Delicious Sleep.
- Support is provided by a personalized web page for applying EFT on your own. Verbal Elixirs are statements I provide on your page that you'll tap on for 20 minutes a day. Five minutes of tapping here and there ensures that the work you do in session is reinforced and deepened. Audio Elixirs are recordings that you can listen to and tap along with anytime. The recordings are derived from our sessions and give you the feeling that I'm there tapping with you.
How it works... Meridian theory, the basis of EFT, has a recorded history of over 2000 years. Modern scientific explanations of meridian theory have reduced much of its effectiveness to neural stimulation. Many EFT points correspond to cranial nerves. Stimulation of these points, it is speculated, interrupts aberrant brain patterns that arise from trauma and stress. EFT is as much a self-applied technique as a technique applied by a practitioner. - All consultations are absolutely free. Our work is personal, so we need to determine if there's a "fit" before any work actually begins. Meetings by phone are a good first step.
 How long will it take to work... Total relief from the effects of sleep disturbance can occur in as fast as one session, though it is unlikely. Children and individuals with previous experience doing self-work will tend to catch onto EFT quickly. Those with a strong sense of commitment to relieving their symptoms also fair well irrespective of experience, because natural rational faculties can be applied toward learning the skill of stress relief as they would be applied in learning any new technology, language, or musical instrument. Some may have difficulty getting their "heads around" such a simple technique. That's fine. As the instruments of science catch up with the explanations for why these techniques work, we fortunately can enjoy the benefits now. There's no more need to know how EFT works than there is for understanding the "hows" of gravity. Stimulating one's neuro-electrical system through tapping requires no more belief than dropping an apple and having it fall. As with learning anything that's new, there may be a brief period of awkwardness that goes away with familiarity and results.
How I do EFT... Every practitioner varies in their delivery of EFT based on experience with the technique, prior training, and philosophical perspectives. I have over two-years experience applying EFT in clinical settings. My training in Chinese medicine affords me insights into which tapping points might be most useful in moving patterns. Additionally, my exposure to Transcendental Meditation from the age of three and subsequent study of Buddhism in university inform my views toward the process of human consciousness, perception, and accountability. There is no doubt that my two-years of work doing Re-evaluation Counseling gave me a way to recognize and move patterns, but more importantly it provided a framework for understanding the process the body undergoes during healing. | "Yang-chu sat down facing me and we talked about my problems with sleep.
