Astrologically, I'm an Earth Monkey by Chinese reckoning; I'm a Sagittarian with a Scorpio rising, by the standard we're most familiar with. Yep. I thought astrology was hooey too till I read '93 Nobel chemistry laureate Kerry Mullis' Dancing Naked in the Mind Field.

A monkey's curiosity had me majoring in anthropology at U Iowa and mastering in Chinese Studies at U Michigan '96--Go Blue! Altogether I spent 10 years learning Chinese. Two of those years were in Beijing studying, teaching, and researching.

It was a health crisis that blessed me with the right excuse to leave law school in '99. Whereupon, I studied and spent as much as I could to free myself from what I was going through. Fortunately, I called upon my mother's experiences with conventional and alternative approaches. I tried a lot of alternatives, keeping what worked and settling upon Chinese medicine as a profession at the suggestion of my then-wife, Demitria. It was during my studies at Yo San that I discovered EFT, which I took to like a fish in water given the meridian connection.

The anthropologist in me allows for the suspension of judgment, which is critical for creating a healing space. With the perception of an eagle, I use intent listening, over 1800 hours of EFT self-work, and over 800 acupuncture clinical hours to creatively persuade chronic patterns and core beliefs to climb down from their perches to allow choice to exert itself.
